Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is a multi-day holiday that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. The fox can help guide when feeling lost. I love this time of year because it gives me the opportunity to emphasize and remind humans that animals have a spirits too. Creating animal paintings (like this one) and creating sculptures with real animal bones is my way of expressing my gratitude for these wonderful and beautiful creatures on the planet.
